Key takeaways
- We match red to romance, pink to affection, white to new beginnings and peach to warm thank-yous and friendship.
- A dozen suits a birthday or date night, 24 an anniversary, 50 a big milestone, and 100 the grand gesture.
- Order by 12 PM Los Angeles time for same-day delivery, in the 11 AM–3 PM, 3–7 PM or 6–9 PM window, seven days a week.
- A vase arrangement is the easy choice for an office or hotel room; with a wrapped bouquet, add one of our vases if the recipient may not have one.
Roses carry more meaning than almost any other flower, and two choices shape the message: the color and the number of stems. Here is how our florists match both to the moment, how to choose between a wrapped bouquet, a vase and a basket, and how to get roses delivered today.
What each rose color says
Color carries most of the meaning. Here is our quick guide:
- Red means romantic love and desire. It is the natural choice for an anniversary, Valentine’s Day or the first “I love you.” Browse our red roses, or start with the classic Dozen Red Roses bouquet, from $115.
- Pink says affection, admiration and gratitude, without the intensity of red. It suits birthdays, moms, close friends and a new romance. Our pink roses range from soft blush to brighter shades.
- White stands for calm, respect and new beginnings. It works for a new baby, a get-well wish or a sincere apology. See our white roses.
- Peach feels warm and sincere: thank you, friendship, “I’m glad we met.” It is a thoughtful pick for a first date or a colleague. Explore our peach roses, such as Golden Chestnut, from $140.
Two notes from our florists. For a first date, we usually skip red and save 50 or 100 roses for later, so the bouquet says “I’d like to know you” rather than “forever.” For him, peach or white tends to land better than pink or red.
Love a design but want it in another shade? Colors can be adjusted on request. Add it to the order note or call us.

How many roses to give: 12, 24, 50 or 100
If color is the message, the count is the volume. Pick the size that fits the moment and the room the flowers will live in.
- A dozen (12). The classic. Right for a birthday, a date night or a simple “thinking of you,” and it fits on a desk or a nightstand. Dozen Red Roses is the traditional version.
- Two dozen (24). Fuller and more generous, a favorite for anniversaries and milestone birthdays. Soft Blush (from $160) is part of our 24 and 50 rose collections.
- Fifty (50). A real statement for big milestones: a 50th birthday, a golden anniversary, a reunion after months apart. Loving Heart (from $285) gathers 50 garden roses in pink and white.
- One hundred (100). The grand gesture, for a moment meant to be remembered. Our 100 roses collection is made for it. Plan for space: this one needs a table of its own.

Wrapped, in a vase or in a basket
Presentation changes how the gift is received, so think about where it is going.
- Wrapped bouquet. Hand-tied in our signature wrapping and handed over like a present. It feels personal and works best when the recipient has a vase at home. Not sure they do? Add one of our vases to the order.
- In a vase. Arrives arranged and ready to display, which makes it the easy choice for an office or a hotel room.
- In a basket. A flower basket arrives ready to set down, with no vase needed, and has a softer, garden feel.
