Hydrangeas and …
A bouquet of only hydrangeas, or hydrangeas with a partner - each one changes the look and the scent.
Only hydrangeas
Fifteen big, airy heads - a soft cloud of hydrangea and nothing else.
With roses
Hydrangea makes a soft, full base; roses bring the shape and the scent.
With delphinium
Tall blue spires over round heads - the classic garden look.
With lilies
Lilies add height, fragrance and a little drama.
With calla lilies
Deep wine tones and sculptural callas - for a statement table.
With dahlias & gladiolus
Bold red summer blooms with hydrangea between them.
With sunflowers
Sunflowers and hydrangea in a basket - warm and autumnal.
With tulips
Citrus tones: hydrangea, roses and tulips with lemon leaves.
Hydrangeas at home
Hydrangeas are thirsty - a few minutes of care, and they last about a week.
- Day 1
Plenty of water
Recut the stems at an angle and give them a full vase of cool water. Hydrangeas are thirsty.
- If a head droops
A bath
Submerge the whole flower head in cool water for about 30 minutes - hydrangeas drink through their petals too.
- Every day
Keep them cool
Away from direct sun, heaters and drafts; on a hot day, mist the petals.
